Gerry Mulligan - Jazz - Baritone Saxophone

Gerry Mulligan (1927-1996), is my favourite baritone saxophonist. His style was cool jazz and as such one of my very first jazz memories (1954?) - Walking Shoes with Chet Baker. One of my all time favourites is my EP of Wintersong with Paul Desmond - both their improvisations are amazing.

I had the opportunity to listen to Gerry Mulligan live at Montreal Jazz Festival in the late 80s.

Some tunes with Gerry Mulligan:

Walking Shoes 195? with Chet Baker
Line for Lions 195? with Chet Baker
Open Country 195? with Bob Brookmeyer
Wintersong 1957 with Paul Desmond
All The Things You Are &
Isn't it Romantic 1971
with Brubeck/Desmond
Bernie's Tune 1971 with Bob Brookmeyer
Satin Doll 1990~
My Funny Valentine 1990~
Walking Shoes 1991
