How-to Make an Animated GIF

Animated GIF:s have become very popular in social media - maybe too popular!? Well over a year ago I made a video about a USB-stick with 4 bootable partitions, and for fun I made the MultiBoot GIF-animation below.

A month ago I wanted to illustrate the screen failures expertienced on my Nexus 9 tablet with an animation. This became the starting point for this video demo, showing the creation of the Android "Bootloop" GIF-animation below. While I was at it I also made an animated GIF showing two screen recorder apps (Screen Recorder from NLL and Recordable) recording each other (when one starts it switches the other off).
Video 4 min

"MultiBoot"

Android "Bootloop"

"Screen Recording" on Tablet

In all cases I used the Video to GIF Converter from ezgif.com. For Twitter the filesize has to be below 5 MB. For the web recording on Linux I used SimpleScreenRecorder and for the video editing Avidemux.
