The Four Freshmen

The Four Freshmen is a male vocal harmony quartet. Their legendary sound that began in 1948 with Bob, Don, Ross and Hal continues on in the 21st century with Curtis, Bob, Stein and Tommy.

I remember starting to listen to the Four Freshmen and the Hi Lo's from the mid 1950ies on. I especially like their use of sixth, seventh (and nineth) chords. They have also inspired Manhattan Transfer and the Real Group.

Some tunes with The Four Freshmen:

Day by Day 1950ies
Angel Eyes 2007?
You Stepped Out of a Dream 2009
I Remember You 2009
Laura 2009
There will never be another You 2010
Early Autumn 2010
Surfer Girl
These Foolish Things 2012
